Candi Dasa

Candi Dasa is located in the east Bali, about 2 hours from the airport, you can see black sandy beach during the low tide, when high tide you can’t go to the beach because they built a wall to protect the land from the abrasion, most of the tourist here is a diver and some transit tourist if they do the Bali round trip. From here you can see the beautiful view of Padang Bay ferry harbor.

Candi Dasa is a seaside town in eastern Bali that rests on the edge of a lagoon. It is popular tourist stop and is often described as a more sedate and laid back beach alternative to the teeming, nightclub filled Kuta area, Denpasar or the large, manicured resorts at Nusa Dua or Sanur. Candidasa is located at Samuh Bugbug Village 12 kilometres from Amlapura, the main town of Karangasem. It was formerly known as Teluk Kehen (Kehen Bay), but since the tourism industry was introduced the name was changed to Candidasa.

Only one thing is for sure, Candidasa is a tranquil village offering varying accommodation, from basic to five-star resorts and few good restaurants in between. Candi Dasa, is named after old temple on the nearby hillside. It is a good holiday location, if wanting to explore the eastern side of Bali. Very developed; its home to some of the island’s finest accommodation choices, dining delights and shopping selections. The beach here doesn’t aspire to being one of the best the island has to offer, however the offshore islands and nearby beaches readily make up for it. The area is known for its underwater life and diving has become of the more popular activities along with other water sports.

This small fishing village is nestled between the Lombok Strait to the east and the mountains to the west. It used to be the most popular destination with day-trippers in East Bali for its amazing white sandy beaches. But, since a while, tourists have decided to head up northwest to Amed for its tropical beachside life. Nevertheless, Candidasa still has some interesting things to offer.
